Riccardo Iacono

Riccardo Iacono (b. 1969, Blackburn, England) works across film, drawing, collage, sculpture and installation. Conversational and open-ended in nature, and often nonsensical or difficult to define, his works evolve through improvisation and play, continually testing and re-evaluating his relationship with the world, with an emphasis on process and incompletion rather than object.

Iacono has an MSc in Electronic Imaging from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art (2001) and a BA (Hons) in Fine Art (Painting) from Glasgow School of Art (1991). His work has been exhibited widely, including on Channel 4 (1997, 1999), at the European Media Art Festival, Osnabrück (2007), and in A Century of Artists’ Films at Tate Britain, London (2003). Solo exhibitions include This Orientation, Summit Gallery, London (2013); Lamp Posts, Project Rooms, Hull (2013); and The No Show, Castlefield Gallery, Manchester (2007). He was artist in residence at Acme Fire Station (2005–10), Lucca Film Festival (2007), and London College of Communication (2007).
